To be able to meet the women and children at the shelter, and to meet the staff that do all they can to make a difference was amazing.
To see so many women who inside have so much to give, who are rebuilding their lives, who deserve the world was truly humbling.
I am so very blessed to have been able to be here today.

“My hobbies have always been art and travel. My passion for beauty in nature, culture, and people is found through travel. I seek adventure and purpose, therefore joining this travel business made perfect sense! My earliest travels started when I was 18. I visited Russia and Vietnam in one year! It was exhilarating. By the time I was 40, I had been on 15 cruises and visited over 16 countries.

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family; hobbies; past business highlights...
My name is Carmesha "Shay" Simon and I was born and raised in Petersburg, VA. I am a loving mother and a wonderful wife. I work full-time in the healthcare field as a certified clinical medical assistant and phlebotomist. I am the CEO of CJ1 Designs, LLC, and I also assist my husband in the operations of his SeaMoss and Clothing business. Outside of business, I am the Past Worthy Matron of Petersburg Ch#33 OES, PHA, a member of Hilaal Court #218 Desert of Virgina, President of Beta Xi Sigma Philo Affiliates of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and President of COTT #27 Petersburg.
2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
Since joining the business, I have definitely learned to be a little bit more patient. Not only patient with my team, but patient with myself as we focus on our goals. Remembering progress, not perfection and quality over quantity.
3. What drives you; what motivates you?
If you would have asked me a few months ago, I would have responded with the answer of MONEY." However, understanding the plan Mr. Donald Bradley put in place to help people, what motivates me now is being able to help and empower other people! When I can celebrate the success of others from rank promotions to bank account increases, it motivates me to keep going. My team depends on me. Lives are changing daily and I'm glad to be in the midst.
4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
I would consider my father a role model. He inspired me to always go after whatever it is I wanted. He traveled the world, started a successful carpentry business and lived on his own terms, often reminding me to live for today because tomorrow is not promised. RIP to my Dad❤️

Determined, Leader, and Ambitious.
6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would it be?
GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY! Let go of any negativity and that includes connected individuals (family and/or friends). Maintain a positive mindset and know that ELEVATION MEANS SEPARATION.
7. What does your life look like five years from now?
Understanding now that RETIREMENT isn't about AGE but about INCOME, in five years I WILL retire myself from corporate America and enjoy the three freedoms this company has promised...TIME FREEDOM, FINANCIAL FREEDOM and PERSONAL FREEDOM.
